Meet the Team

Mike Walker

Mike Walker founded Basin Consulting Group after a distinguished career as an elected official and high-level government administrator. He brings a wealth of knowledge and intricate understanding of the public sector to BCG clients.

Mike was first elected as an East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Councilman in 2001, serving in this capacity for 12 years. In 2009, he was unanimously selected by his colleagues to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore.

Walker Bio

At the age of 23, Mike was named Chief Administrative Officer for former EBR Mayor-President “Woody” Dumas, and served as the Mayor’s top assistant for four years. Also during the Dumas tenure, Mike worked as Assistant Director of the Mayor-President’s Council on Youth Opportunity.

Mike served three previous EBR Clerks of Court as their Personnel Coordinator and as Training Officer for the 19th Judicial District Court. In this capacity he coordinated the activities of 300 employees.

Mike has long been active in the community. He was one of the original signers of the Council on Aging Charter and served as its first Chairman of the Board. He also served as the first President of the 10-parish Agency on Aging and is a former member of the EBR Recreation and Park Commission Personnel Board and the Alcohol Beverage Control Board.

Mike has also previously served on the East Baton Rouge Parish Audit & Employee Benefits Committees, the Industrial Development Board, and the Board of Election Supervisors. He currently serves as Chairman of the C.B. Pennington, Jr. YMCA Board of Directors.

Kenny Weber

Kenny Weber has a unique blend of public and private sector experience. He began his career with the City-Parish of East Baton Rouge where he served as the Administrative Director of Citizen Services under former Mayor-President “Woody” Dumas.


Most recently, Kenny served as a Grants-Contract Compliance Officer for the Mayor-President’s Office of Community Development.He brings a wealth of knowledge of construction contract management, bidding processes, and purchasing procedures for public projects.

In addition to his service in government, Kenny has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry as an administrator and manager. In this capacity, he regularly guided projects through the governmental approval and compliance process, and routinely collaborated with the EBR Department of Public Works and Planning & Zoning Commission, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development and Department of Environmental Quality.

For nine years, Kenny served as a gubernatorial appointee on the Louisiana Liquified Petroleum & Gas Board, where he also served as Co-Chairman. He previously served as a Metropolitan Council appointee to the East Baton Rouge Parish Personnel Board and sat as a member of the Ethics Commission.
